Founded in 1969, the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) (www.wset.co.uk) is one of the most trusted and internationally-recognized wine and spirit education programs. Currently the program is available in over 47 countries in 13 languages. Completion of all levels of the WSET program, which includes passing the Intermediate, Advanced and Diploma levels, is the structured path highly recommended by the Institute of Masters of Wine for individuals interested in achieving the Masters of Wine.
MWS currently offers the Intermediate (9-week course) and Advanced (13-week) level courses. Completion of both levels enables you to carry the distinction “WSET Certified”, as issued by the UK-based WSET.
Both the WSET program and the Masters of Wine, although highly-respected achievements recognized throughout the world, do not contend to be vocational schools in the United States. These classes are designed for those who have a serious interest in wine, and wish to broaden their knowledge.
